Magnesium Aluminium Silcate

 A naturally occurring mineral clay that is used to thicken, colour and help form stable emulsions in cosmetics. When mixed in water the clay swells to form a thickened liquid that can be used to suspend, stabilise and add body to your cosmetic formulation. It helps to create products that feel soft and silky and have a smooth and luxurious flow.

Formulating: Make sure that the clay is added to the water phase before other ingredients. Using water that is 70 degrees and medium speed mixing will help disperse the clay and thicken water.  

Usage: 0.25-2.5% depending on the ingredients used and final viscosity
